Carbon capture begins at NTPC’s power plant in India

Carbon capture is underway at NTPC’s 500MW coal-fired power plant (Unit-13) at Vindhyachal Super Thermal Power Station, in Madhya Pradesh, India.

NTPC Energy Technology Research Alliance (NETRA) has selected Carbon Clean and Green Power International Pvt. Ltd. to set up the Carbon Capture Plant at NTPC Vindhyachal. This plant is designed to capture 20 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) per day, which will use modified tertiary amine to capture CO2, from flue gas of fossil fired power plant, with a purity of more than 99{7350838783cd05e1afabe9ea8d098013765ffa8a1395dd229f186d2c5c334947}. CO2 will eventually be integrated with hydrogen to produce 10 tonnes per day of methanol through a catalytic hydrogenation process.

Last year, Green Power International Pvt. Ltd. performed an E70 overhaul at Hindustan Syringes & Medical Devices Ltd. The maintenance of the first TCG 2032 V16 gas engine from the medical technology manufacturer’s fleet was successfully completed within only three weeks. At HMD, the MWM gas engine generates power for the production of medical products such as single-use syringes, I.V. cannulas, and surgical scalpels.

SIX MWM TCG 2020 V20 GAS ENGINES IN ISLAND MODE SUPPLY WORLD’S LARGEST MOTORCYCLE AND SCOOTER MANUFACTURER WITH POWER

The Indian MWM service partner Green Power International Pvt. Ltd has installed six TCG 2020 V20 gas engines for the large motorcycle and scooter manufacturer Hero MotoCorp. The engines were commissioned in the years from 2010 to 2012. Three of the six gas engines were installed in the Hero MotoCorp factory in Gurgaon, and the other three in the factory in Dharuhera, Haryana.

THE MWM TBG 620 V16K GAS ENGINE THAT WAS INSTALLED IN 2005 HAS BEEN GENERATING ENERGY FOR THE DAIRY BUSINESS FOR 15 YEARS AND HAS COMPLETED MORE THAN 100,000 OPERATING HOURS.

The MWM TBG 620 V16K gas engine, which has an output of 1,364 kW , was installed by the Indian MWM service and distribution partner Green Power International (Private) Ltd. This year (2021), the fourth gas engine in Green Power’s genset portfolio, which operates on the premises of Amul Dairy, completed 100,000 operating hours. Thanks to the reliability of the genset and the assistance of Green Power’s service team, the facilities operated at a utilization level of 100 percent throughout the COVID-19 lockdown period. Thus, Amul Dairy was able to continuously supply essential dairy products to the entire nation.

Carbon Capture technology will be used at NTPC’s Thermal Power Station in Madhya Pradesh, India, for capturing 20 tonnes of carbon dioxide per day. The carbon capture solution will be installed in the plant’s flue gas stack and capture CO2 as it is emitted from the coal-fired boiler. Green Power International Private Limited (GPIPL), bagged the order from NTPC to set up this CO2 capture plant based on Carbon Clean’s CDRMax® carbon capture technology.

A MEMORABLE ANNIVERSARY PARTY: TCG 2020 GAS ENGINES DELIVER POWER AND HEAT FOR 100,000 HOURS OF CONTINUOUS OPERATION

Gujarat Fluorochemicals Limited (GFL), India’s largest producer (by volume) of chloromethane, refrigerant, and polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) in western India’s federal state of Gujarat. Since 2005, three highly efficient TCG 2020 gas engines have been supplying the chemical giant with cogenerated power and heat energy. Each of the MMW power gensets has thus run continually with natural gas for more than 100,000 hours.

To celebrate the occasion of achieving milestone of 100,000 operating hours of gas gensets , the executive staff of Fluorochemicals invited the entire service team of Green Power, the Indian distributor of MWM gas engines, and Nazmi Tanis, the responsible Service Sales Manager from Mannheim.
